NEIL, Theresa (Tracy)

October 21, 1963 – Calgary, Alberta
May 31, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Theresa (Tracy) Neil of Calgary, AB, passed away in her home on May 31, 2019 at the age of 55 years.

Tracy was born in Calgary, AB, on October 21, 1963 to her parents James and Isabella. After spending her early child in Calgary, Tracy and her family moved to James River Bridge near Sundre, AB, which gave her plenty of great stories about the ups and downs of country life. After seven years in James River her family returned to Calgary where Tracy graduated from St. Francis High School and then proudly received her degree in Education from the University of Calgary in 1985. Theresa spent many years teaching elementary school students before retiring to raise her three children and become an at home tutor.

Tracy was an excellent pianist and had many other passions including reading, photography, and helping those in need. In 2009 Tracy’s love of travel and helping others led her on her most memorable vacation to Kenya where she volunteered with the organization A Better World. She also had strong connections to Jamaica and Hawaii, visiting both countries multiple times throughout her life. Tracy loved watching the wild humpback whales in Hawaii and always enjoyed relaxing by the ocean.

Tracy will be most remembered for her love of children, teaching, and her passion for running. Throughout her lifetime she accomplished over sixty road races in Calgary and surrounding areas.

Theresa is survived by her two daughters, Abby Rogers and Meg Rogers; son, Jonathan Rogers; mother, Isabella Neil; brother, Robert Neil; sister, Catherine Neil; her beloved dog, Bella Bob; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through
