April 28, 1945 – Geburdshagen, Germany
January 24, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Daniela Nadolski, beloved wife of Adam Nadolski, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2019 at the age of 73 years.

She was born on April 28, 1945 to her parents Helena and Zygmunt Zakieta in Geburdshagen in Germany when the Second World War was near its end. After the war her parents moved with her from Germany and settled in Poland near Warsaw; first in Gabin and later in Gostynin. After basic education, she attended High School in Gostynin, and after that, she studied at University of Warsaw, and graduated with a Master’s degree. After University, she worked as a teacher for about four years, and then as an Administrator for the Housing Authority for about five years. After that she traveled to Chicago in the USA, visiting her friend, and staying there much longer than planned. In Chicago she found work as a waitress. After a few years of working in Chicago, she was married in 1987 to her husband, Adam, and in 1988 immigrated to Canada to join him in Calgary. After coming to Calgary she also worked as a waitress, and later, a cashier. During evenings, she attended courses at SAIT, where after four years of studying, she got her diploma as a Library Technician. In the beginning she volunteered as a School Librarian, either on-call or working as a substitute as she gained experience in this new field. After many months of volunteering, she then obtained a full-time job as a School Librarian – first at Banff Trail School, then at St. Helena School, and finally at St. Monica School – all in Calgary. She retired at the age of 65, in April 2010, from the School Librarian job, but she wanted to do something with her spare time, so she decided to continue working part-time for the condominium building she lived in as a caretaker. She finally stopped working for good in December 2015, due to the onset and rapid progression of her illnesses (diabetes and dementia). She will be remembered for her huge love for family and friends – she had a big heart for everyone and was loved by everybody she met.

Her loving husband and many loving relatives as well as her friends will miss her.

Daniela is survived by her loving husband Adam, her loving sister Krystyna, and brother Zygmunt (Lolek), along with their extended families in Poland.

Daniela was predeceased by her youngest brother, Zbigniew (Zbyszek).

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through
