MULHOLLAND, Louisa

October 29, 1929 – Belfast, Northern Ireland
December 24, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Sadly we announce that Louisa Mulholland passed away peacefully on December 24, 2018, at age 89.

Louisa was predeceased by her husband Norman Mulholland in January 1997. She is survived by her two sons, Robert (Bob) Mulholland of Calgary, Alberta and Kenneth (Ken) Mulholland of Port Perry, Ontario. Louisa is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Louisa was the only child of Georgina and Albert Foye and predeceased by her parents in 1942. Following the passing of her parents, Louisa went on to live with family in Belfast for the next four years. In September 1946, Louisa departed Belfast for Southampton, England to embark on a voyage to Canada in order to join family located in Toronto, Ontario. Married in 1948, Louisa and Norman lived in Scarborough, Ontario until 1981. At this point in time, Louisa and Norman retired to Dundalk, Ontario, where they operated a retirement hobby farm raising sheep. Following the death of her husband, Louisa remained in Dundalk until 2002. At this time she made the decision to move to Calgary, Alberta. Here, she enjoyed frequent trips to the local National Parks for her love of the mountains and the chance of seeing some wildlife.
Unfortunately in 2013 and 2014, Louisa suffered a couple of strokes which required her to become a resident of AgeCare Walden Heights. We would like to thank the staff of Walden Heights and the Alberta Health Services representatives for the care and attention they provided our mother during the last four years.

A private family internment will take place in Dundalk, Ontario at a later date in the spring of 2019. This will soon be followed by a Celebration of Life at Port Perry, Ontario. Date, time and location
to be announced. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate a donation be made to either the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 264-5549, www.heartandstroke.ca. or the Diabetes Canada, 220, 6223 – 2nd Street S.E., Calgary, AB T2H 1J5 Telephone: (403) 266-0620, ext. 1112, www.diabetes.ca. Dear Bob. We just learned that your Mom passed away and are so sorry for your loss. Louisa was a wonderful friend to my dad, Stewart Meadows during their time at Walden. We all had many good times together there. She was a very kind and caring lady with strength and a great sense of humour.
