September 8, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta
Bessie Burton Snook Mugford most loved wife of Eric Mugford was born July 20, 1928 in Fortune, Fortune Bay Newfoundland and went to be with her Lord and Saviour on September 8, 2018. She was the second of 9 children born to Hedley and Sabina Snook.
At the age of 14 she moved to North Sydney NS to live with Salvation Army Officers, Captain and Mrs. Stanley. In those years her already strong faith in Jesus Christ took on an even deeper commitment to serving God and His church. It was also in those years that she met the true love of her life Eric Dawe Mugford. Together, making their new home in Montreal Quebec, they began a love and life that would last for over 70 years lovingly raising their family of six children, Wayne (Nell) Mugford, Joyce+ (Norm)Fisher, Donna (John) Drisner, Sharon (Wayne) McKeown, Lorna (Marv) Wiebe, and Dean (Sharilee) Mugford; fourteen grandchildren, Eric, Venassa, Paul, Amanda, Melissa, Evan, Kyle, Kent, Erika, Ryan, Kaila, Kristi, Josh and Cayden; and by fourteen great-grandchildren whom affectionately called her GG, Hedley, Riley, Madison, Taya, Olivia, Bianca, Noah, Jude, Macy, Drew, Austin, Andi, Isabella and Presleigh.
Each and every one of her family was deeply loved and prayed for daily. She will also be greatly missed by her surviving seven siblings, extended family, and many friends. She was predeceased by her older sister Francis and her loving daughter Joyce.
We wish to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Rajeev Sharma, nurses and staff of the Calgary Peter Lougheed Center Unit 43.
