It is with great sadness that the family of Debra Morris announces her passing on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at the age of 63 years.

Deb lived her entire life in Calgary and found support and friendship living at Alice Bisset Place. Deb worked in the accounting departments of oil companies including PetroFina and Petro Canada. She enjoyed travelling occasionally to Mexico. Deb had a great love for animals especially her chihuahua Fiona. Later, Deb’s failing health took its toll on her but she never complained and kept her sense of humour.

Deb will be fondly remembered by her mother, Marion; by her brother, Ken (Laurin), sister-in-law, Terry; nieces, Jessica (Stacy), Tricia and Casey (Bryce) and nephews, Andrew and Clint.

Deb was predeceased by her father Norman; and brother, Jim.

As per Deb’s wishes, no service honouring her passing be held. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

Condolences for the family of “MORRIS, Debra Ruth”

Condolence from Marilyn Malley on July 19th, 2019 1:32 PM

Mom, Kay Nowak and I, Marilyn Malley send our sincere condolences to you all. Deb and I grew up as childhood friends in Capitol Hill and until a few years ago Mom and Marion were neighbours. Deb had two chihuahuas when we were kids, so am not surprised to hear she continued her love of animals. Even as kids Deb struggled with her asthma and I remember visiting the hospital on several occasions. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Condolence from Casey on July 19th, 2019 8:04 PM

I remember as a child being taken to the Petro Canada children’s parties and Stampede Breakfasts by Auntie Deb. I remember these beautiful sweaters she made for everyone one Christmas and her hand stitched cards. I remember her famous marshmallow salad – something I need to introduce my own kids to.
I know life wasn’t easy for Auntie Deb. But her humour, her compassion, her love for animals, her kindness and big heart always shone through. She is going to be very missed by me and my family.

Condolence from Shannon Cundal on July 22nd, 2019 4:16 PM

I worked with Debbie many years ago, early 1990’s, at North Canadian Oil in Sun Life Plaza. I remember her kindness and her wicked sense of humor. She loved to tease my husband Harold and I recall the two of them having more fun at our company parties than I did. It’s been years since we saw Debbie, but we totally remember her. She obviously made a lasting impression on anyone she met. Our condolences to Debbie’s family and friends. She will be remembered in my prayers.
