MEYERS, BETTY

Betty Meyers (nee Haynee) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Our beloved Nana was a lady who kept people on their toes. Lively and quick-witted, Nana loved a good joke, playing bingo and the slot machines at the casino, and big jewelry. Nana was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she dedicated many years to helping take care of her grandchildren. Whether it was baking cookies in her kitchen, or going on trips to Phoenix and Las Vegas, time spent with Nana was always treasured.
Nana will be lovingly remembered by her brother Mustapha Haynee; daughters Valerie (Kenn) and Laurie (Rick); grandchildren Lauren (Cliff), Mike, Ali (Franco), Natalie, Kyle (Cara), and Jessica; and great-granddaughter Clara. She was predeceased by her husband Lorne.

A celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at The Carriage House Inn, (9030 Macleod Trail South, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through

We were so sorry to hear that Nana had passed. Dan and I both remember spending time with Ali and Natalie at her house as kids, and remember how kind and wonderful she was. She clearly meant so much to her family, and it was easy to see the love that she carried for all of you. We are thinking of you during this hard time, and sending all of our love.
