To Gerhard’s family. My husband and I first met Gerd at the Charleswood Riding Club in Winnipeg. My husband Tim and I met there and married in August 1972. We have such fond memories and lots of stories of the three of us. Tim and Gerd loved to discuss Ulysses at great length which was beyond me but Gerd taught me so much about horses and riding. He even stayed with us for awhile at Goldstream Stables before he moved out west. I remember him telling us when he first moved to Canada he was so broke he could only afford to eat bananas. Gerd was such a lovely person, truly alive when riding and was always a great friend. We always wanted to reconnect with him but you know how life is. So sorry for your loss.
