Charlotte McWilliams of Calgary, AB passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the age of 99 years.

Charlotte was born on September 9, 1919 in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was predeceased by her parents at an early age and was raised with her brother Marsh Dentzer by her maternal aunt and grandmother as well as extended family. Even though her parents died when she was young, she always felt loved and cared for.

Charlotte attended school in West Alexander, Pa. and graduated as class valedictorian. From there she attended secretarial college, working in industry and the hospital in Washington, Pa., where she was introduced to Frank McWilliams through her future sister-in-law. The couple were married one year later. They moved to Arkansas, then Oklahoma, Montana, and finally settled permanently in Calgary. Charlotte had an unwavering faith and a lifelong involvement in the church. She had a keen interest in music and art, and enjoyed singing and piano. She was a member of the church choir in every location that she lived. As well, she enjoyed singing with the Notables well into her 90’s. She will be remembered for her upbeat attitude and positive, cheerful, outgoing personality. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Frank McWilliams, and is survived by her children Jeanne McWilliams of North Liberty, IA, James Patrick (Heather Bradley), Laurie Weber, and Amy McWilliams, all of Calgary. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be forwarded through If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 703 Heritage Drive S.W., Calgary, AB T2V 2W4.
