MCLUSKEY, Andrew Charles

August 5, 1960 – Middlesbourgh, England
January 16, 2019 – Cancun, Mexico

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew McLuskey at the age of 58 years. He was a wonderful husband to Cari (nee Nobles) and a devoted father of two beautiful children, and the center of his world, 15-year-old twins Aidan and Abby.

While Andrew called Canada his home, his heart was always in his beloved Scotland, where he lived until he was twelve before immigrating to Calgary in 1972 with his parents Winifred and Andrew, and his sister Carol.

While his formal education came from the school of hard knocks, Andrew’s depth of knowledge in politics, history and current events was akin to that of a scholar. He had an encyclopedic memory and his ability to debate was surpassed only by his musical talent. Although a tile setter by trade, Andrew was most at home on the stage and enjoyed success as a musician, playing in a number of bands over the years as an accomplished bassist and vocalist.

Ten years ago, Andrew escaped the big city for a quiet life in Lake Country, B.C., where he and Cari could raise their children in the peace and solitude of a lakefront cottage on Lake Okanagan that reminded him of his homeland. It is here that some of Andrew’s ashes will be scattered, alongside his dog Boo.

Besides his loving wife and children, Andrew leaves behind his mother Winifred, brother-in-law Tommy Pews and nephew Patrick along with many relatives in Calgary and abroad. He was predeceased by his sister Carol and father Andrew.

A special thank you to Andrew’s colleagues, who did everything they could to try and save him when he suffered a heart attack while away on business.

Those who wish to, can contribute to an education fund in the name of Aidan and Abby McLuskey at any RBC branch (Transit) 07930 (Account Number) 5149901.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through
