June 24, 1928 – September 6, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce our beloved mother, Margaret Ellen McLeod, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2018 at the age of 90 years.
Margaret was born in Vancouver, BC, where she spent her early years. She graduated from St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver as a nurse. She married her beloved husband Hugh (Ewen) McLeod on January 5, 1954, and they spent many years in Edmonton raising their three children until relocating to Calgary in 1974, where Margaret had resided since.
A very caring, strong and independent woman, Margaret loved to host and entertain and take part in many social activities such as playing bridge and crib, attending church and Texaco Elderstar events. She also enjoyed spending time cooking, gardening, knitting, and travelling. Margaret treasured her loving family and lifelong friends; one of her greatest joys was spending time with them.
Margaret lives on in the memory of her children and their spouses, Barbara and Craig Kimler, Neil and Heather McLeod, Hugh and Wendy McLeod; grandchildren, Brett, Megan and Mark, Steven and Jenn, Thomas, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Laelith, Xylia, Ethan, and Emily; sister, Jane Gilchrist.
