Condolences for the family of “McDONALD, Jill Elizabeth”

Condolence from Gloria Ross on March 29th, 2017 11:05 AM

I was so sorry to read of Jill’s passing, Roy. I always enjoyed visiting with her when we both worked in the South School building and admired how she usually walked to work there. I realize it has been some time since we visited with the two of you at the local markets in Red Deer.
Of course, there are many fine memories of the kindness shown to my daughter, Erin, by both of you when the kids were growing up.
My sincere condolences to you, Trevor, and Grant.

Condolence from Kim Goddard on March 29th, 2017 8:02 PM

Grant and Trevor, I am truly heartbroken to hear of Jill’s passing. She was a wonderful caring woman who always made me feel like part of the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys and your dad.

Condolence from Donna Storvik on March 30th, 2017 1:25 PM

My deepest sympathies to Roy and Family on the passing of Jill. I was pleased to know Jill through her work with Adult Basic Education and Upgrading at Red Deer College. Jill also taught adults in the General Equivalency Diploma as well as in the Trades and Technology Programs. Jill was a teaching dynamo! There wasn’t anything she could not teach! She cared so much about her students and they, in turn, cared for Jill and considered her an excellent teacher. Jill’s devotion to education and to adult learners, in particular, was incredibly valuable to our society! She will be missed by her students and her teacher friends. Thank you for all you did, Jill.

Roy, Grant and Trevor, I am so sorry to learn of Jill’s passing. I will remember her as a neighbour, friend and co-worker at South School. My thoughts and prayers go out to you at this difficult time.

Condolence from Palma Miller on March 31st, 2017 8:40 PM

I worked with Jill in the Adult Upgrading Program at RDC . She was a dedicated and compassionate person which endeared her to many – even complete strangers. We would tease her that complete strangers would tell her their life stories within the first few minutes of meeting her. I am thankful to have had the privilege of working with Jill. My deepest sympathies to all of you.

Condolence from Arnold & Evelyn Leimert on April 2nd, 2017 9:02 AM

We were so sorry to read about the passing of Jill. Roy, we offer our sincere condolences to you and your family. Jill was a wonderful caring person.

Condolence from Diane Cauvin on April 3rd, 2017 2:35 PM

While employed by Red Deer College, I worked in the same area as Jill. We were part of the South School family. I enjoyed her wry humour plus her refreshing common sense. She was the keeper of our lottery dreams and the distributer of home grown tomatoes. Jill helped organize yearly dinners so retirees could catch up on each others lives & reminisce. The journey of loss and grief is difficult. My heartfelt condolences to all the family. Diane

Condolence from Lorne and Nancy Goddard on April 7th, 2017 9:55 PM

Roy, Grant, and Trevor, we are so very sorry to hear about the loss of your wife and mother, Jill. Lorne and I really enjoyed getting to know Jill a little in bygone years and know that she will be deeply missed. I knew Jill from RDC and always enjoyed her directness and sense of humour. Both Lorne and I would like to offer our heartfelt sympathy as you walk through these dark and difficult times and hope that you will find some comfort in the treasured memories you shared together.
