MCCUAIG, Cynthia (Cyndi) Marie

December 17, 1969 – Cardston, Alberta
June 5, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Cyndi McCuaig of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the age of 49 years.

Cynthia Marie McCuaig (Eagle Plume) was born on December 17, 1969 at the Old Indian Hospital in Cardston, Alberta. Cynthia was the second youngest of nine biological siblings. Right from the hospital, she was adopted by Reverend Allen and Muriel McCuaig. Muriel was Cynthia’s nurse at the time and fell in love with her in the beginning. She was the eldest of two adopted brothers, Paul McCuaig and Maxwell McCuaig.

At the age of thirteen, she was reunited with her biological mother, Evelyn Many Guns (Sandy Eagle Plume) unfortunately she never met her biological father, Sandy Eagle Plume. I am sure they are rejoicing right now, welcoming her with wide open arms in the spirit world.

Cynthia then met her siblings on her mother’s side, Joanne Smith (Mickey), Ronald Many Guns, Theresa Many Guns, Carl Many Guns (Carla), Sherry Eagle Plume (Kenny), and Penny Many Guns (Will). She was predeceased by her brothers, Vince Taylor, Wanda Many Guns, Ross Eagle Plume, and Paul McCuaig; and first love, Harry Red Crow.

Her siblings on her father side include, Corinne Eagle Plume, Everett “Porky” Eagle Plume, Gloria Big Sorell Horse, Laurie Eagle Plume, and Ross Eagle Plume.

Cynthia has many friends who loved her and who she loved very much. She was very smart, loving and kind. Although she lived a very hard life of pain, heartache and struggle, it was not enough to keep her from smiling and making people laugh. She had a lot of people she took in as kids. She was the happiest when she was with her five children, Jamie (Andrea), Adam (Kara), Skyler (Sunshine), Cayenne (Sarah) and Dezeray. She had fifteen grandchildren whom she loved and adored. Cynthia was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by her many friends and family. Cynthia’s one wish was to make sure her kids and grandkids were to be well taken care of.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

  1. Stacey Bruised Head

My condolences to Cyndi’s family. I got to know Cyndi when I attended Lethbridge College with her years ago. We became close friends and I loved her dearly. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. We lost touch in later years, but I have thought of her often.

  7. My Sincerest & Heartfelt Condolences go out to her many family &
friends. This is such shocking news to hear. When she was adopted by the McCuaig’s along with her brother Paul, I use to babysit the 2 during their infancy & toddler years. We attended church and Sunday School together when Father McCuaig & Muriel lived in the house next door to the St.Pauls’s Anglican Church, Moses Lake Blood Indian Reserve. I watched her grow into a beautiful fun loving caring kind young lady. She was so happy, full of life and such a joy to be around. I always thought of Cynthia and Paul as years went by, bumping into them here and there on many occasions. I loved her as a little sister, & Paul a little brother. My heart is saddened hearing this news as Cynthia was always in my thoughts & prayers. She will be Dearly Missed but the Memories I shall Cherish for a Lifetime. May you Rest In Peace Cynthia Sending Hugs Love & Prayers to her beautiful Children Grandchildren & Family during this most difficult time❤️
