McCASKILL, William “Bill”

February 22, 1935 – Crossfield, Alberta
June 25, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Bill McCaskill, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary, AB on June 25, 2018 at the age of 83 years after his short battle with cancer.

Bill was born in Crossfield, AB then moved to Calgary where he attended SAIT, worked in the steel industry for thirty-five years, met his wife Barbara and raised his family. He enjoyed his photography, car shows, grabbing a coffee at A&W and sharing his photographs and stories with his grandchildren and friends. He loved his family with all his heart, and for those who were lucky to have known him, knew what a great and proud man he was.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years Barbara (nee Barnfather), and will be deeply missed by his children Mark (Samantha), Gary (Karen), Rhonda (James), Sandra (Frank); and his five grandchildren, Sarah, Madelyn, Mairin, Katelyn and McCaskill ”Mac”; as well as by two brothers and one sister.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Bill’s honor at the family residence on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. . Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.     Our sincere condolences to you & your family. We worked with Bill back in the early 80’s at Westeel Rosco here in Calgary when he was the Building Products Division Mgr. (where we met & eventually got married few years later). He was a mentor, coach & father figure to both of us, having just entered the workforce. We have fond memories of Bill to this day, as he left a lasting impression of how to live life to the fullest & make the most of every day we are given.
