Harvey Many Heads of Siksika Nation, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the age of 73 years.
In Harvey’s early schooling he attended Namaka School in the 1950’s and after that he attended Old Sun Residential School. He also attended Carsland School. Harvey was a hard worker, holding many occupations including Eagle Lake Sand Plant, farming, Pipeline, Welding and Nakiska Ski Hill. Harvey had a passion for storytelling. Harvey was an athletic hockey player, as well as an avid Calgary Flames and Calgary Stampeders fan. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor, open door policy, and friendly demeanor. Harvey was an outgoing and easygoing personality. Harvey will be missed by friends and family, and others that have crossed his path. He leaves behind his trusted cat Poos.
Harvey is survived by his two sons Edwin (Edith) and Durwin Many Heads; seven grandchildren Michael, William, Martin, Leeanna, Ryan, Gavin and Amari; two great-grandchildren Felicia and Jeri.
Harvey is also survived by his six siblings Rachael Casper, Clifford (Janis), Jacob, Douglas (Rebecca), Davis (Tanya), and Gordon; Sister-in-law Yvonne Stimson, as well as his aunts and uncles Liz (Norman), Muriel, Matthew (Carol), and Josie (Allan); the families of Many Heads parents, WolfLegs, and Running Rabbits.
He was predeceased by his parents, Douglas Sr. and Annie Many Heads; Grandfather, William Many Heads and Nancy Many Heads; two brothers Andrew Many Heads and Johny Young; sister Delores Many Heads, five aunts Rosie Red Gun, Ina Rose Many Heads, Hazel Jane Three Suns, Mabel, and Maggie Royal; four cousins uncles, Roy Many Heads, Richard Many Heads and Levi Many Heads and Jasper Many Heads Sr.
Wake Services will be held at Gordon Yellow Fly Arbour, Siksika Nation, AB on Friday June 7, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gleichen Chapel (150- 9th Ave East, Siksika Nation, AB). Graveside Service to follow at Eagles Nest Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB). Forward condolences through www.McinnisandHolloway.com.
