MAILLOT, Jean-Paul Pierre

April 6, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Jean-Paul Maillot of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the age of 75 years. Jean-Paul was born and grew up in France. In 1974 he immigrated to Montreal, Canada where he met his wife, Myra. They were married in 1976 and moved to Calgary the next year where they started their family. Jean-Paul worked for Nova as a systems analyst for over 20 years. After retiring he volunteered with Alberta Health Services at the Holy Cross, and became a member of the Heart to Heart support society visiting fellow heart patients in the hospital.

Jean-Paul was an avid reader, a life long learner, an intellect and a spiritual person with strong values. He was kind, gentle and patient, respectful of others, and always willing to help. Jean-Paul loved to travel and found joy in everything around him, loved sports, and enjoyed long walks in Fish Creek Park. Above all else he valued time with his family.

Jean-Paul is survived by his wife, Myra; son, Alain of Seattle, WA; brother Bernard (Chantal) Maillot of Grenoble, France; niece Charlotte Maillot of Grenoble, France; nephew Clément (Céline) Maillot and their children Léna and Louise of Grenoble, France. Jean-Paul was predeceased by his son Rémi Maillot and his parents, Simone and Robert Maillot.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow at the Church. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made directly to the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta, Condolences may be forwarded through
