MacPHEE, Jacqueline “Jackie”

Posted By Obits On November 22, 2018 @ 4:10 PM In Deerfoot South Chapel Obituaries,Obituary | 26 Comments

October 15, 1960 – Aberdeen, Scotland
November 21, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce that Jacqueline MacPhee has finished her long battle with gastroparesis.

Jackie was born in Aberdeen, Scotland to loving parents Ian and Jessie Robertson and her brother William. Her family moved to Corby, England in 1962. While there, she met and married John MacPhee. They moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1980, where they raised three children; John Jr., Robert, and Heather. Jackie worked as a trained chef, was a homemaker, ran a day home while raising her 3 kids, and was a department manager at Walmart. Even though illness forced her to stop working, she continued to pour her fierce strength into helping everyone she met; whether in person, or online through support groups and communities of others with chronic health issues. In 2007 and 2014 she welcomed daughter-in-laws Susie and Elsbeth warmly into the family. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her 6 grandchildren. Bruce, Maggie, Andrea, Max, Fergus and Leo could always bring a smile to her face, even on the toughest days, and were recipients of her endless generosity. Jackie was a warrior, right until the end. We will miss her tremendously, but we are grateful to know she is no longer suffering. Her compassionate heart will live on in the memories of all those she touched.

Jackie is predeceased by her parents Ian and Jessie Robertson and her brother William.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB [1]) on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Jackie MacPhee, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE., Calgary, AB T2X 3J3, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

Sorry for your loss, I never had the privilege of meeting Jackie as an adult . Jackie was my cousin and have lovely memories of times when you visited Aberdeen as a child. She was a truly beautiful person who we were so excited to have plans to meet up with in July.

Her posts show what a remarkable lady she was in not only her support for her fellow GP sufferers but her great love of her family.

Fly high beautiful lady .
