So very sad to hear of Doug’s passing as a long time ago while growing up in Owen Sound Doug and Jock were friends of mine.
Doug was a good person than and by all indications he remained true to that theme for the rest of his life.

Our deep sympathy to all Doug’s family. Roger and I were lucky to reconnect a few years back with Cathy and Jock at a Westhill High reunion. My family also grew up on Fourth Ave. in Owen Sound and Bruce (Doug’s Dad) was our family doctor. I have fond memories of football games in the lot between the MacLean household, and the Leslie’s, with Jock and Doug. Also recall some very exciting sails in Georgian Bay with the MacLean boys! Wishing you peace at this difficult time- and may the happy memories help in your sadness, Sincerely, Linda Yates – now Young. (Victoria, BC)

  16. Deepest sympathy to Doug’s dear family and cherished friends. I am saddened to read of his death, having noticed “Practical Wellbeing” missing from the side of the building where I took so many mindfulness claases from him and participated in retreats. Doug shared his passion for living well in such an accessible, inspiring way. The last class session I participated in with him, I had the honour of serving as a mental health consultant. Moving from mindfulness student, towards colleague, I will miss his mentorship. Take comfort in knowing what a difference your dad/husband/brother/friend made in the lives of the people he met. In your grief, try to remember him saying, when you lose yourself, simply “Begin again”.
