Lorne remembers how much Lorraine enjoyed a Biology 30 success as she earned the highest mark in the Gr. 12 final, beating Ben Boisvert and himself. She was full of life and advernture through our high school days, as well. So glad to hear that she continued to gather her family and friends together with her fun loving and generous spirit. May that live on in all of us.

  10. I have known Lorraine since our early days in St Albert. She, Lynn McNeill, Jacquie McNeill, myself and others spent many hours together at the McNeill house listening to Lorraine’s many stories and laughing so hard at her antics. She had a generous spirit and a heart full of love for all. She was just so funny and her laugh was infectious. And she always told it like it was!
Many thoughts and prayers to all her family and now she is in Gods care and may he watch over her tenderly.

  11. Lorraine will be fondly remembered by her CSC colleagues and friends. She was a tireless champion for the men and women she supervised, but not afraid to be firm and take action when needed. I had the good fortune to work with her for a few years and her compassion and adventurous spirit left a strong impression. My condolences to her family.

    Charlach, Kelly and Katie,

Please accept my personal condolences. Lorraine left us far too young. My most memorable contact with her was through Corrections, I as a ignorant volunteer and she as a talented officer. She caused me to laugh so much through some very trying efforts at rehabilitating certain contacts. It was her ‘complete’ sense of humour that made the lives of many around her see a more positive and good light. I hope she can rest in peace.

  13. Dear Charlach,

I heard from Sarah that Lorraine had passed away, and just write to say how very sorry I was to hear the news. So devastating is such a loss, and now you have received a double blow, with the death of Sheena also, only a few days later. She and Vora, were the heroes of my nursery days, who chatted me up and made me laugh: Indeed, the four of you brought fun to Ferne, and I so admired your Freedom (while I was being made to ‘behave’!) I am sorry that I never had an opportunity to meet Lorraine: when I read her obituary and saw the photo of her lovely face, I thought again of Sheena, and that they would have had a lot in common – both kind and generous and full of life and fun. I always meant to come back to Canada and see my cousins, but good intentions came to nothing, and here I am in France instead. Please let me know if you ever decide to come to France for a holiday (an outside chance, probably, as I know you are not well) It would be lovely to see you. I always wanted to hear more about your work – but guess you have now finished with that. With love from your cousin Fiona.
