Garry Roy MacIntyre, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the age of 68 years.

Garry was self-employed and enjoyed a long career at Garry’s Tire Service; when he retired, he worked for the City watering trees and flowers.

He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time in his yard, Garry was known for his bonfire nights. He had a love for animals and spent time enjoying horse races. When not spending time outdoors or enjoying the horses, Garry could be found watching sports; hockey being a favourite.

Garry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Colby Parnell; his step-daughter Miranda McMullen; his granddaughter Piper Parnell; his step-grandchildren, Dawson McMullen-Lenting and James McMullen; and his sisters and brother-in-law Cheryl Chabeniuk, and Marlene and Wayne Campbell.

He was predeceased by his wife Brenda MacIntyre; his parents Olive and Malcolm MacIntyre; and his brother Malcolm MacIntyre.

Please join us Saturday June 9, 2018 at Schanks North between 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm for a celebration of life honoring the memory of Garry MacIntyre. Feel free to drop by to share memories, stories, races, bets and beverages. We will watch the running of The Belmont Stakes and see if Justify, Garry’s pick, can secure the Triple Crown.  Please come as you are or dress in your Derby best (big hats, dresses, suit jackets, Sunday best, etc.).  There will be a remembrance speech at 3:00 pm prior to the Belmont post time.
