Alasdair R. C. MacDonald of Calgary, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the age of 49 years.
Alasdair was born in Ottawa, ON on December 29, 1965 and he lived there for the first fifteen years of his life. He moved to Calgary in 1981 where he attended Lord Beaverbrook High School and graduated in 1984. He later attended the University of Calgary where he earned degrees in both Psychology and Education. He went on to a very meaningful career as a high school teacher at both Earnest Manning and Centennial High Schools. He also worked for many years as a counselor at Hull Home and Wood’s Home. He will be lovingly remembered as a passionate humanitarian and a champion of the underdog.
Alasdair is survived by his father Richard MacDonald; seven siblings, Roy MacDonald, Catherine Crothers, Fraser MacDonald, Glena Fedori, Shona Brodeur, Fran Del Castilho, and Donegan MacDonald; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Janet MacDonald.
