LESTER, (Charles) Derek

October 29, 1921 -December 26, 2018

Born in Surrey, England, Derek passed away peacefully.

Derek is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shelagh; his children, Brian (Sheila – and their three children Mark, Claire and Ellen), David and Alison; and brother Nigel (Diana).

He was predeceased by his sister Pamela.

After serving in the Royal Navy in WWII, Derek immigrated to Canada in 1952 to work in the oil industry. Here he met Shelagh and derived much pleasure in acquainting Calgarians with all things English. He was a member of the Marylebone Cricket Club in England and both the Ranchmen’s and Glencoe Clubs in Calgary. He was also a proud parishioner of Christ Church, Calgary, where a celebration of his life will take place in the Spring.
