  1. Donald McLean Gordon

    Dear Sandy, Mark, and Gregg,

Edith became my colleague forty-six years ago when we met at R. T. Alderman Junior High School, and later at James Fowler High School where she’d become the librarian. For all these many years, she has been a dear friend, and a role model for everyone she met. She raised the three of you all by herself and overcame each and every circumstance with grace, courage, and always a broad smile and hearty laugh. I have wonderful memories of working with Edith, and have always been in awe of her remarkable capacity to smile through adversity. Above all, she was an exceptional mother to each of you and truly led by example. Please accept my deepest and heartfelt sympathy.

Our sympathy goes out to your family. I met Edith in the year 2000 when she lived in Palliser and last saw her about three years ago. She was a lovely principled, strong and kind lady and a pleasure to have known. May the beautiful memories of her remain in your hearts forever. Shirley Mikolajow

  4. My condolences to Edith’s family. Edith and I taught together at James Fowler. She was always so patient and kind – with a quiet sense of humour. To this day, I have a lovely little serving dish which she gave me.
I am sorry that I’ll be unable to attend Edith’s service on Saturday, but I’ll be out of town.
May you have memories of joyful times shared with your Mom. LEE HUNT

    Sandy, Mark and Gregg
You do not know me, but my mother Jean Fay played bridge every Wednesday with your Mother and Ev Wilson and Bunny Hale for a long number of years. Edith was a special friend to Mom after Dad died, and for that I have always been grateful. Before she died, Mom asked Edith to make a baby quilt for each of her grandchildren, and she did that.
I just want you to know that your Mom’s legacy will continue in our family as well as yours, as each quilt has been used for the next generation. They are lovely and unique.
Also, I am a good friend of Diane Dixon and Jean Spence, and I have let them know about your Mom as they are now in Sydney, B.C.
Blessings to your whole family. Edith was a special woman.
