LEINWEBER, Adam Richard

July 20, 2001 – St. Catherine’s, Ontario

July 26, 2019– Calgary, Alberta

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Adam Richard Leinweber on Friday, July 26, 2019.

Adam was best known for his boundless energy and enthusiasm, and his genuine love of people.  He practiced the martial art of Taekwon-do since age five, earning his second degree Black Belt on July 13, 2019.  Adam was greatly loved and admired by students and instructors alike for his dedication, determination, skill, and his ability to connect and form a bond with people of any age or walk of life.

Adam was also a valued member of 604 Moose Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets, where he rose to the rank of Warrant Officer Second Class.  There, he continued to develop as a leader, and earned the respect of his officers, fellow cadets, and parents.  He enjoyed gliding, and was pursuing his dream of becoming a licensed pilot when he was taken from us.

As a student, Adam earned honours throughout his time at Crescent Heights High School.  He was particularly adept at math, sciences, computer programming, and auto mechanics. Adam had been accepted to study Physics at the University of Calgary.

Despite his many friends and a hectic schedule, Adam enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his parents, either hiking in the mountains, or just a quiet movie night at home.

Above all, Adam will be remembered for his ability to inspire and connect with others.  Unlike many of his generation, Adam did not do this by social media.  He did it the old fashioned way:  One person, one conversation, and one laugh at a time.  He touched many, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Adam is survived by his devoted parents, Martina and Bradley Leinweber;   sister Vivien Huizinga; and grandmother Barbara Leinweber; his German Shepherd – Gretchen; along with other extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

In living memory of Adam Leinweber, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB, T2E 2V6,   Telephone: 403-243-8200.

Adam was truly one of a kind, he trained with my dad at Tae Kwon do for 13 years, and over the last 3 years he has been mentoring and help teach my daughter. He will be dearly missed at the club and by all the students, teachers, and parents. He had such a strong and positive presence at Tae Kwon do, he will always have a special place in all our hearts. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences goes out to Adams family.

The news of Adams passing came as such a shock to us.
Adam was more than a student of Tae Kwon Do, he was a dedicated practitioner of the art, a mentor to all the younger members of our Tecumseh family, and also also an inspiration to us instructors, who have watched him grow into a gracious and respectful young man.
He will be sadly missed by his Tecumseh family.
Our heartfelt condolences goes out to Brad and Martina at this very sad time.

  12. I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Adam’s passing. Brad, you were my first team leader when I moved to Calgary in 2014, and I can remember seeing your son going on a field trip with a group of kids one day as we were heading out for work one summer day. I always liked to ask about him, even recently in our last chat, as you always beamed to tell me what he was up to lately in his life. He was lucky to have had such wonderful parents that loved him dearly and he sure did live his life to the fullest. Please know how much you are all in our thoughts right now.

    Martina and Brad,

    Chaleureusement votre.

    Martina and Brad,

The pain we feel in losing a child is a pain that no one should feel in this world. No parents should have to bury their child.

It is with a deep and indescribable pain that Laura and I convey our condolences. It is humbly and with humility that we kneel down and make a prayer for Adam’s rest, leaving so young and in the prime of life. Let the lord who loves only the perfect receive him in his infinite goodness, and relieve Adam of the sorrows of this world.

To you, the wonderful parents that you are, may strength and courage, self-denial and pride, guide you in this difficult moment. May your greatness and generosity allow you to appreciate the values you have offered to Adam in particular and to so many others in general. Know that you will never be alone and that around you are so many children who love you and just ask to be there for you too.

    Warmly yours.

  20. Seeing Brad and Adam after the Stampede Parade earlier this month was great, both wearing their taekwon-do-do suits. Adam enthusiastically talking about the Subaru WRX they test drove and their recent trip to Vegas made it obvious Adam was living the dream. Adam will forever make his family proud as I can see his rank as a kid, a son, a brother and a friend was 1st class, may he R.I.P. as he soars even higher.

  23. TECUMSEH TAE KWON DO

We are totally heartbroken as a result of the loss of one of our star students. Adam came to us when he was only 5 year`s old with his dad Brad who is one of our senior instructors. In his early days we all came to truly understand the meaning of two of the Tenets of Tae Kwon Do, perseverance and self-control !! as Adam was quite a handful when he first joined us.

Over the years Adam grew up before our very eyes, and becamse a student who strived for perfection.
On July the 13th we tested Adam for his 2nd degree black belt and with his performance, he passed with flying colours.
We were privileged and honored to share that journey with him.

The unofficial motto at our club is “It`s not all about kicking high”. Adam did not seem to have much regard for that, as everything he did was to his highest ability. He persevered until it was right.

He was a great mentor to our younger students and he instilled in them his zest to do better. As instructors we were, and will continue to be, inspired by his energy, his constant smile, his eagerness to instruct and his kindness to others.

He will be dearly missed by all at Tecumseh Tae Kwon Do and will never be forgotten.

Thank you Brad and Martina for sharing Adam with us through the years. The young man we lost is a credit to you both.
