  3. To Dear Marc, Andrew and Chris,

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your wife and mother. Penny and I spent many happy early years together in Westmount. We skiied, cycled, skated and socialized together. We both ended up at McGill, I studying OT and Penny, PT. We ended up as next door neighbours on Wolseley Avenue in Montreal West. Penny and I had a lot in common and I can remember her joyful laugh to this day. She and Marc were great neighbours.

Please accept my sympathy at this difficult time.

    Dear Marc and family,

I knew Penny when she and I were at Westmount High School in Montreal in the early 1960’s. I remember her a always having a smile and as a great source for information for the gossip column for the Purple and White school newspaper! A few years ago, about the time of our high school reunion, I heard that she was not well, and tried unsuccessfully to get in touch with her. I am sorry that the past few years have been difficult for all of you. I will be thinking of you Marc, Andrew and Chris, and wish you peace and many blessings at this time.

  8. Penny was a classmate of mine at McGill. I remember her as always smiling and cherry. After graduation I moved to Boston and we had no further contact until our class reunion in 2008, when our small group was able to share the reunion with Penny by phone. Penny at that time had health problems. I can imagine that all of you have gone through a very difficult time these past few years. My deepest sympathy to the family.

    Dear Marc, Andrew and Chris
We were so sorry to hear of Penny’s death and know that you will miss her terribly. The joy that she brought to you over many years no doubt will keep you strong at this time. Perhaps we will be able to share some of those happy memories in P.E.I.

So many memories crowd my mind as earlier times flood into conscientiousness: in the music class with Penny in junior high and both playing the clarinet, both involved with badminton, becoming friends….. which lasted through high school, university as we both studied physiotherapy, then both working together later in the same rehab centre. I think of Penny as very loyal to and proud of her roots and yet having a very large heart and able to fit in and appreciate people with very different backgrounds from hers. Me being one of those! and yet we were close, even to the point of being one of her bridesmaids and accepting me into her new family after she was married and started a family. She was witty and could be very cryptic and sarcastic; she always had so many dreams and plans.
That was long ago and my contact with Penny has been minimal for many years. My heart broke for her when her health deteriorated to the point of having to be in an institution. I only saw her once in that period but manys the time I racked my brain for what way I could have some contact with her even though we were on the opposite ends of Canada. I was not very successful and I am sure that the family often felt that same sense of frustration, even if some were close and some were far: if only there would be something I could do.
I offer my condolences and prayers for Marc, Andrew and Chris and all the Lattoni family and to Jane and Nora, their spouses, and families on the Ramsay side.

    Dear Marc,
I was so sorry to hear that Penny had passed away. I have many fond memories of our friendship at Westmount high and of the wonderful summer that I spent with her – first in New Brunswick where we cruised the Oromocto River on “The Maggie” and then when Mr. Ramsay took us over to P.E.I. For a visit. It is a memory I cherish. Over the years I would look forward to receiving your family Christmas card which would always reflect Penny’s delightful wit and humour. She made so many happy memories for those whose lives she touched.
Bar and I send our deepest sympathy to you and your family.
Our thoughts are with you at this time.
