LANDEEN, Katherine “Kay” (Temple) (nee Zyla)

November 27, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta

Kay Landeen (Temple) of Calgary passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the age of 104 years.

Kay was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Kay is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Marion Temple; daughter-in-law Jacquie Temple; her grandchildren, Sherry Akitt (Ken), Ken Temple (Teresa), Susan Hennessy (Mike), Sandra Parkes (Mike), Katie Temple, Linda Temple (Curtis), and Chris Temple (Louise); and her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Gena, Tiffany, Austyn, Klay, Kerri, Nicole, Felicia, Cy, Marlow, Asa, and Oren.

Kay was predeceased by her first husband Mervin Temple; her second husband Doug Landeen; and her son George Temple.

Kay lived in Buffalo, NY, Cedoux, SK, Regina, SK and finally in Calgary. She was active in the United Church and was a member of Confederation Park Seniors Centre, Rebekah Lodge, and Gliders. She had fond memories of celebrating her 100th birthday with friends and family and dancing at her 104th.

Over the years, she worked in retail sales and volunteering. She enjoyed cards, cribbage, square dancing, circle-a-word, needlework, paper tole, cooking, making fabric hangars, gardening, and world travel.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Kay’s honour may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. or to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.

In living memory of Kay Landeen, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES.
