LAMB, Gertrude (Lynne)

July 8, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with a broken heart that the family announces the passing of Lynne Lamb on Monday, July 8, 2019.

Lynne was born in Fort MacLeod, AB and grew up on the family farm. She moved to Calgary and worked at Nelson’s Stationary and Woolworth’s. She also worked at different Alberta Treasury Branches in Calgary for many years. She had fond memories of her time with the bank and the people she met. Lynne married Lloyd and was a wonderful homemaker and mother to their one daughter Cheryl.

Lynne was very creative and over the years enjoyed sewing, oil painting and baking. She also liked to bowl and garden. Lynne and Lloyd played bridge for many years and operated the Kingsland Bridge Club for over twenty-five years.

Lynne will be remembered for hosting family and friends in her home, serving delicious food and good times. Lynne had a beautiful yard and flowers. She was a wonderful wife and the most loving mother. Lynne will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

Lynne will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cheryl.

Lynne is also survived by her brother, Ken Chugg of Calgary, Alberta; sister, Irene Cull of Calgary, Alberta; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Lynne was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Lamb, brother Gordon Chugg, and sister Barbara Lowther.

A Celebration of Lynne’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at Rockyview Garden of Peace (16th Avenue and Garden Rd NE). Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

  6. Cheryl, my name is Brenda and I am the volunteer at Rockyview Hospital who visited your mum for the past 2-3 months. I was so sorry to learn of your mum’s passing when I visited the hospital last week and she was not there and subsequently reading her obituary in last weekend’s Herald.
