George M. Labelle, beloved husband of Sheila Labelle, was called to his heavenly home by our Creator on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the age of 84 years.

Besides his loving wife Sheila, George is survived by three daughters and a son; Bernadette (Clifford), Conal, Kathy (Kevin) and Lana, grandchildren Georgina (Harry), Zabrina (Edwin), Barret, Donna (Brian), Danny (Blossom), Clarke, Candy, Clifton (Joy), Tashina, Dakona, Linda, Genny, Caden, Dwayne (Samona), Megan (Jeff), Kelton (McKayla), Kes, Brandon, Starla and Alex, 42 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, his sister Yvonne (David) Poucette, sister-in-law Clara Snow, brother-in-law Horace Holloway Jr., adopted children from Dixon, Benjamin and Amos families. Numerous nieces, nephews and relatives from Morley, Eden Valley and Bighorn.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Sheila Labelle (Morley, AB) on Saturday, August 11 at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 12, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at Morley Bearspaw Youth Centre on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Chiniki Cemetery.     Shingasusu of the Stoneys, that name given to me by Byron and Casey while George and Gordon and grandfather Tom were over by the fire, Sheila making meat into those thin sheets to hang on the green poles to dry and smoke, and Darlene helping. But its still my name. Most wasidjins don’t understand.

    In loving memory of our Ade(emun) we enjoyed our precious memories from our childhood to the time of his passing he was very kind n humble n greeted everyone with hand shake and never called us by name. We will miss his smiling face and greeting us by calling us mechuncsi and mechinksi.
