KIMURA, Polly “Olive”(nee Manning)

November 12, 1936 – Kings Lynn, England
May 29, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Polly Kimura, beloved wife of George of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the age of 82 years.

Polly was born in Kings Lynn England on November 12 1936. She lived and attended nursing school in England and immigrated to Canada in her early 20’s landing in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia to start her nursing career.

Polly made her way to Alberta and she and George were married on December 23 1967, in Raymond Alberta. Polly spent many years in nursing, working at the Grace Hospital and a few other local clinics in Calgary. Polly was passionate about nursing, her flower garden and being a grandmother.

Along with her loving husband, Polly is survived by her two sons Craig and Jeff, her daughter Jenny; her daughter-in-law Heather, her son-in-law Brent Hopkins; as well as her eight grandchildren Austin and Hunter Kimura, Brandon, Jordan and Kennedy Kimura and Cameron, Makenna and Evan Kimura all of Calgary Alberta.
Polly is also survived by her brother Tony and sister-in-law Chris Manning; and brother-in-law Peter Odendaal; as well as multiple nieces and nephews in England.
Polly is predeceased by her parents Charles and Jessie Manning; her sister Betty.

On behalf of Polly, the family would like to acknowledge and thank the McKenzie Towne Care Center for taking such amazing care of Polly while she was with them. We couldn’t have asked for her to have been treated any better.

A celebration of life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through
