KASHA, Bradley Raymond

KASHA, Bradley Raymond, age 56, passed away suddenly August 31, 2018. We grew up in domestic violence. The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Study concludes that this toxic stress leads to an increased risk of behaviours that lead to disease. Thanks Nancy Mannix. Brad received his first skateboard for his 13th birthday. There wasn’t a day Brad didn’t have that skateboard under his arm ready to jump on it the minute the school bell rang. He had a very tight knit handful of core friends that he shared his love and passion of skateboarding with. On Brad’s 16th birthday, he received his driver’s license and could now take his Mom’s 1966 Falcon out to explore even more skateboard spots. Brad would go on to compete at regional and provincial skateboard tournaments and although he was a fierce competitor, he also was always the one who got the contests organized and ensured everyone had a great time! This was just Brad’s kind nature shining through. Snowboarding had just emerged in 1981/82 and Brad found his new passion. He taught himself and started competing in 1988. Brad was awarded a full sponsorship by SIMS snowboards and was the first and only Canadian member on their team. Brad was quiet, very polite and would always listen before delivering his opinion. In his early adult life, Brad showed the responsibility needed to hold down a job. Brad went on a fantastic journey of life and lived it to its fullest and there won’t be a day the EVER goes by that we won’t think of him and that infectious smile.

Sister, Tamara Thomson and Dawn Kasha, niece Rachel and fiancé Ryan, nephew Scott and fiancé Jamie will miss B-RAD.

May you rest in peace my brother Brad, Love Mike, best friends for 50 years. Thanks to the Sandum and Kasha families, who have given us resilience. Brad has been cremated.

A Celebration of Brad’s life will occur in mid November 2018.

Brad will then be interred with his mother.

Exemplary care was given by Jim, Amanda and the staff at McInnis and Holloway. Contact us at celebratebradk@gmail.com

In living memory of Brad Kasha, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

I have the best memories of skate boarding in the late 1970’s in Calgary with Brad, Mike Pust, Covey and Mitch Bauman.
After so many years, and thinking often of those seminal times, I was deeply sadden to read of Brads passing.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.

  6. Diane Michalenko :

Dear Tamara, Dawn, Rachel, Ryan, Scott and Jamie:
So saddened by Brad’s sudden passing and hope he is resting in a peaceful place along with “Jomomma”, Mother Joanne. We had many one-on-one times discussing with Brad his many skate board and snow board competitions, not to forget his artisan work as a hardwood floor installer. He sent many pictures to us of his works of art.
    Hang loose nephew Brad!
Aunt Diane, Uncle Dennis and Cuz Kristin
