JORDAN, Brenda Mary (nee Maclean)

October 6, 1952 – Calgary, Alberta
July 18, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta

Brenda beloved wife of Richard Jordan of Calgary, AB, passed away on July 18, 2017 at the age of 64 years.

Brenda was born and raised in Alberta. She lived in the Calgary and Edmonton area until 1978 when she met and married her soul mate Rick Jordan. After they were married they moved to the family farm where they raised their five children together. At the age of 40 Brenda went back to school to graduate with honors and started working as a nursing assistant. This was truly her calling and she was amazing at her job. Brenda loved her children immensely, but more than anything she loved her eleven grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy then spoiling her grandkids and having them walk up to her to get hugs and kisses from their Nana. Brenda suffered a stroke in 2008, and while her initial prognosis was grim, true to form, she set out to prove everyone wrong and she did. Despite some limitations Brenda had a very fulfilling last nine years with her family. She will be dearly missed.

Brenda will be dearly missed by her children Darryl (Joel), Rory (Lindsey), Bobbi (Curtis), Becki (Brad), Ricki; and her grandchildren, Aidan, Avery, Elizabeth, Isabelle, Victoria, Julian, Seth, Carmen, Austin, Braillie and Emersyn. She will also be missed by her brother Jim and many extended family and friends.

Brenda was predeceased her husband Rick; her parents, Jesse and Ian; and her brother Rory.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Brenda Jordan, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB Telephone: 403-256-9575.

I am so sad to hear that Breanda has passed away, she was a neighbour of my mothers at Providence Care Center. I just got to know her and enjoy her company this past year, it was a pleasure to read about her life and her love of family, even though she was a lady of few words we had many enjoyable moments together sharing lots of laughs. She would sit watching my mother and I play Skip Bo, listening to our “hillbilly” music and helping my mother play due to her limited vision. I volunteered to accompany Brenda to Spruce Meadows a few weeks ago we had a great time, despite how hot it was Brenda headed straight to the horse barns and we visited “every” horse. It was a great day so happy she let me tag along. I will miss Brenda as she put up with all my chatter and had a lot of laughs.
I am sorry for your loss she was a lovely lady.

One favorite good memory I have of Brenda included a day at Lake Sundance with Jesse and Austin as a small child. Brenda had brought (or arranged for these few) clients from the nursing home to also come with us.

Jesse packed a picnic lunch, the lake was beautiful and clam. Always amazed me how sympathetic and compassionate Brenda was with her clients.
It was a lovely day for us all, a memory I will cherish and remind Austin of later in life.

    You will be missed Brenda.
Rest in Peace and please give Jesse a hug too.
    Love always,
    ~Andrea Jordan
