JARVIS, Sonia Mildred

September 8, 1946 – Rainy River, Ontario
June 12, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with profound sadness that we say, Sonia Mildred Jarvis of Calgary, AB passed away in her home on June 12, 2019 at the age of 72 due to complications from Heart Disease.

She was born in Rainy River, ON on September 8, 1946 – the 5th of six children to her parents Steve and Tillie Prusky. She loved to cook and would often speak of watching her mother make Saurkraut for the family. She loved to spend time on the computer researching recipes and listening to classic rock and roll. Her other interests included camping with Percy – who would often say that she would ride her bike for hours on end and her fascination with The Young & The Restless (don’t call her while this program was on). She will always be remembered for her smile, her laugh, her love for her family and being one of the hardest working people you would ever meet.

She is survived by her long time partner Percy Way; son Edward Jarvis (Tracy); and brother Emil Prusky (Betty Brown); sister Mary Kaus; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father and mother, Steve and Tillie Prusky; husband Clifford Jarvis; and her brothers Bill, Matt and Gene Prusky.

In lieu of flowers the family requests you make a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 264-5549, www.heartandstroke.ca or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, Provincial Office, Sun Life Place, 710, 10123 – 99th Street, Edmonton, AB T5J 3H1 Telephone: 1(866) 412-4222. https://www.albertacancer.ca/donate/
