  8. Dear Jim,
Since the time you broke the news to me, I continue to grieve and mourn the sudden loss of a trusted friend and close confidant who became my kindred spirit. She left a mark on the lives of all those she met and touched in her unique way. She always spoke in glowing terms of you and how much she lover, respected, adored and cherished you, and it deeply saddens me to imagine the grief you are valiantly trying to bear while fulfilling her wishes. But I also know that in the four decades and more that you have been together, she was woven a brilliant tapestry of beautiful memories which will always brighten the moments before they can be overcome by the darkness of gloom. While nothing can dull the bitter edge of a physical loss of someone so dear and special, the echoes of her mischievous chuckles will always bring a flood of fond and merry memories of someone whose presence can never be snatched away by death, as your beloved Syl lives on in your heart and of those who like me who loved this exceptional woman and her graceful, yet indomitable spirit.
May her sweet soul fin rest encased in your eternal love for her within your aching breast.
    – A sad and grieving friend – Jason
