  4. Maureen Ebel(nee Fiddes) :

    Gary and I were in the same grade in Gleichen. Although we lost touch after leaving school, I have good memories of playing scrub baseball on a vacant lot with he and others spring,summer and fall. He was well liked. The older boys and his hockey team called him Kippy I think. One memory I have from Halloween grade three. Some kids in our class had put a lot of work into their costumes. There was a big parade through the school and the grade seven and eights voted for the best costume. My witch’s costume was looking pretty darn good when at the last minute in waltzes Gary in some of his dad’s old clothes. The older kids were rolling in the hallways as he got into character and clowned his way right into first place. Gary brightened many a day in our class. My condolences to his family.

    Sincere condolences Irene and family. Very saddened to read this notice sent to me by my sister Leanne. What wonderful memories you have to share. Oh how I remember the fun family BBQ’s at Barb and Chick’s. The laughter over the “meadow muffin” contest. He will be missed.
