JAMES, David Paul

November 30, 1945 – Montreal, Quebec
September 11, 2018 – Okotoks, Alberta

David James of Calgary passed away with his loving wife, Margaret (Bobbie) by his side on September 11, 2018 at the age of 72 years.

David worked for Kayjon Graphics in Montreal for over twenty-five years and retired to live with his daughter April’s family in Calgary in 2013. He enjoyed reading his paper with a cup of coffee, doing crosswords and playing horseshoes, but his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with friends and family. David also had a great love of animals and Kuma and Cali will miss his belly rubs and treats.

Despite the difficulty of the past few months of his illness, David kept his quick wit, sense of humour and love of conversation with friends and family. He was a man of honour and kindness and his loving presence will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.

He leaves to mourn his wife Margaret; daughter and son-in-law April and Ryan Jameson; son and daughter-in-law Peter James and Nancy Mandel; and his four grandchildren, Dylan Jameson, Kristopher James, Brittany James and Amber James. He will also be missed by his siblings, Patricia, John, George, Ron, and Brian, and his many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Gladys (nee Moorcroft) and his stepmother, Florence Heffernan. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Thomas, Ken, and Joan.

Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. 9. David was a very nice, kind man and liked to joke making us laugh. When our car made so noise, he told us to turn the music on outloud so we wouldn’t hear the noise anymore ….no more noise because the car stopped running. Our sympathies to Bobbie, April, Peter and the rest of the family. We’ll miss David very much. Love from Lee & Simone
