Edith Jakob of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the age of 80 years.
Edith grew up in Deuderode, Germany. She immigrated to Canada in 1955 at the age of eighteen years old, where she resided in Winnipeg Manitoba, and met the love of her life Alfred. On December 11, 1965 they were married, and moved to Calgary, Alberta soon after. Edith owned her own cresting company for many years until she retired. She had been a member of the Austrian choir HEIMTECHO for thirty-seven years, she enjoyed singing. She also volunteered at the Peter Lougheed Hospital for twenty-five years. Edith deeply valued family and friends, and could always be counted on to be there for support. She was a generous friend and made the community a better place to live.
Edith is lovingly remembered by her husband Alfred; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Tammy of Calgary, AB; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Robert Kuhn of Airdrie, AB; grandchildren, Mariah Jakob of Lethbridge, AB, Steven and Sara Kuhn of, Fredericton, NB, Nicole Kuhn of Airdrie, AB; and great-grandson, Joshua Kuhn.
