HOSIER, Marie (nee Milton)

December 1, 1952 – Brampton, Ontario
July 14, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Marie Hosier, beloved wife of Steve Hosier, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the age of 66 years.

Marie was born in Brampton, Ontario. She attended Streetsville High School and graduated with her B.Sc. degree from the University of Toronto.

Marie was a Lieutenant in the Canadian Armed Forces and was the founder and CEO of Indus Technologies. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crossword and sudoku puzzles. Marie was particularly proud of the achievements and graduations of her son and daughter and the births of her grandchildren. Her most memorable vacation was visiting her son William in Australia with her mother Lois.

Marie is survived by her loving husband Steve; son William; daughter Kathy; and two grandchildren, Oliver and Emmett. She is also survived by her mother Lois Milton; and brother Robert Milton.

Marie was predeceased by her father Joe Milton; sister Anne Stairs of Stratford, ON; and her cats, Cleo and Rusty.

A Gathering will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

  4. I will miss the insightful conversations with Marie. I remember stopping by the house unexpectedly and she was always willing to make time for a visit. She had a natural calming influence and I enjoyed every minute we shared. I’m sad because I miss her, but I’m relieved that her fight is over. Lois, Bob, Steve, Will, Kathy, Oliver, Emmett, you are not alone. Many of us will miss Marie’s presence and cherish her memory. She was a wonderful person. Lots of love to you all.

    Ed and I were so sorry to hear of Marie’s passing. Words seem empty and no one knows the pain that you and your family are going through. Do treasure the good memories, they will give you strength as you get through this time of grieving.
    Ed and I remember when we visited on our honeymoon, it was your birthday and Marie had invited us for dinner, she was so gracious and we always enjoyed her updates at Christmas.
