HOOPS, Margaret Ann “Peggy” (nee Campbell)

May 21, 1940 – December 6, 2018

Peggy Hoops, age 78, beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, nurse, and friend passed away peacefully, in the presence of her three daughters, at Southwood Hospice on Thursday, December 6, 2018, just four months after the heartbreak of losing her beloved Hal, her husband of fifty-four years. Mom lived her life according to her Christian faith, and set a good example for treating others with dignity, kindness, and respect. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.

Peggy was predeceased on August 9, 2018 by her beloved husband Hal. She is survived by daughters, sons-in-law and cherished grandchildren, Heather and Bruce Brunette (Laura, Sarah, Matthew), Jenny Hoops and George Brindle (Oliver, William), and Debbie and Steve Barry; and brother Ted Campbell. We, her family, are grateful for the loving care and kindness given to mom at Southwood, and by her many good friends and neighbours who visited and called over the past few months. Your presence was appreciated.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home in the hospitality centre. I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom, Peggy. Your Mom was always a very elegant, loving & caring person. She mentioned her family often and how much she enjoyed going to Bragg Creek for a break. Her absence will be forever missed at bridge. May all of your memories of your Mom & Dad help the pain of great losses. My deepest condolence to all of you.

  11. Heather, Jenny & Debbie,
I was sad to hear of your mother’s passing. Like the hundreds of young women she mentored, I still remember the lessons I learned from Peggy Hoops. She was so capable, confident and caring. Whether I was preparing for a skating competition or a wilderness challenge, your mum’s words of wisdom stay with me today. I can vividally see her in camping gear, marshalling her girl guides.
Your mother touched my life in a special and profound way. Know that my thought and prayers are with you today,
    Lisa Bugden
