HOLTER, Milton “Scottie” Edward

July 5, 1939 – Nipawin, Saskatchewan
July 8, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Milton Holter, beloved husband of Jean (nee Sillars) of Calgary, passed away peacefully, after a recurring battle with Lymphoma, on July 8, 2018 at the age of 79 years.

Milton attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and graduated with a degree in Geological Engineering, later acquiring his Master’s. Milton went on to hold several jobs in potash, coal, and the oil and gas industry. He was a very active member of the Vietnamese Alliance Church and First Alliance Church. Milton had many hobbies, including gardening, working on his model train set, photography and spending time in nature.

Milton is survived by his wife, Jean; his son Terry Holter and wife Yoshiko, of Sacramento, CA; his daughter Heather Jagrelius and husband Markus, of Calgary, AB; and daughter Shauna Hall and husband Shawn Hall, of Calgary, AB. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ella and Erik Jagrelius, Clara and Oliver Hall. Milton’s quiet, gentle strength will be lovingly remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews, friends, and family members.

“Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”

Funeral Services will be held at First Alliance Church (12345 – 40th Street S.E., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

  7. Gayle Wannop :

When I think of Uncle Butch, his warmth, humor and true love for family and need to embrace them with a heartfelt benevolence is what comes to mind. You don’t actually have to be in his presence, just calling him to mind is all that is needed. That is his legacy, to love and hold others close.
