HOFFMAN, Raymond Edward

July 22, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Ray beloved husband of Joan Eleanor Hoffman (Nee McCarthy) of Calgary, Alberta passed away peacefully on Mon, July 22, 2019 at the age of 91 years.

Ray was born in Cold Lake, Alberta on May 12, 1928. Ray was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle and Grandfather (papa) to six granddaughters. He will be missed by everyone. Ray was a shop and mechanic school teacher most of his life with the Calgary Board of Education and retiring in 1993. He was always giving of his time, available for friends, and family to assist with any needs that they may have had. Rays most memorable vacations were his honeymoon to California with a truck and trailer, also the Alaska cruise. He very much enjoyed the outdoors, skiing, hiking, and camping.

    I met Ray when I was 12 tears old and he became more than a friend, rather a father figure and mentor. I will no forget him. It’s too bad that circumstances caused us to go different paths.

    Sending Joan, Jerry and family, and Susan and family our sincere condolences on the passing of Ray. He was a dear husband, father figure and grandpa. Keeping his “memory” alive will give you all great comfort as you guys continue on with your lives, as you all were his foremost in his life.
