HAWORTH, Phyllis Beatrice

February 5, 1922 – Brandon, Manitoba
December 16, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta

Phyllis, beloved wife of the late Arthur Raymond Haworth (August 9, 1976) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the age of 95 years.

Phyllis passed away after a full and complete life that spanned ninety-five years that included work, travel, sports and volunteering. Phyllis’s work career encompassed numerous jobs and no matter the task, she excelled. Mother loved sports and exhibited both skill and ability in softball, five and ten bowling and on her retirement she took up golf and spent many happy days traveling and enjoying her friends golfing. Mother will be remembered as one who could do (and did do) anything she set her mind to do it if it was a benefit to her and family. Her stubbornness to see things right pulled her through many difficult times while setting a clear example to others what was right or wrong.

Phyllis loved her family and is survived by her son Ken (Karen), grandchildren, Michael (Connie), Nancy (Corey), Barbara (Eric); and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Phyllis Haworth, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

To Ken, Karen and all the family,
We are now and were very saddened back on Dec 16 to hear about Phyllis’s passing. We recall numerous times of being over at your house and having happy moments with your mother. She was always interested in various sport events and would join us downstairs to watch them. On another get-together, we had the opportunity to travel out to Barbara’s wedding in Kelowna in tandem with your mother and have an excellent picture of her from that trip.
We will hold happy memories of her for many years to come.

Dear Ken, Karen and your loving family,

In memory of our dear Auntie Phil,

When we were little girls, my sisters Rebecca, Eilleen and I loved when Auntie Phil came to visit. Laughter and smiles every single time. I was very grateful in my 20’s when I had the opportunity to work in Calgary and lived with Auntie Phil. We all have so many wonderful loving memories, and we will cherish them forever. I know my Mom Eilleen is with your Mom, smiling down on all of us.

Love always, Christine, Darrell, Zachary, Christopher, Lukas and family XO

    Hi Ken and Karen,
We will be thinking of you today for your Mother’s service. Your Mother was a fine Lady, and I had the privilege to meet her at your place when we were young. She was a “military mother” and raised you alone, with the absence of your father who was employed elsewhere as a member of the Canadian Forces. Like my mother she had a strong positive influence on your life. I remember that she was a supportive in helping you seek and obtain employment with Alberta Government Telephone Co., now TELUS. You were blessed to have her, and you can be proud of her.

God’s blessing to you and your family,

    Bill and Micheline
