Posted By Obits On December 18, 2016 @ 2:04 PM In Obituary | 88 Comments

November 4, 1973 –December 15, 2016

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Gregory (Greg) Joseph Hauck. Greg’s generous, endearing spirit will be forever remembered by his beloved wife, Jenn Hauck; his parents, Jill and Brian; his brother Andrew and sister-in-law Jackie; his sister Jennifer and brother-in-law Troy Olson; his five nieces and nephews who meant the world to him, Jordan, Alexis, Ben, Claire, and Gavin; and all of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Greg had a love for life, was quick to laugh or play a small prank, and was always available for a warm hug. He was a man who cared deeply for the people in his life and enjoyed nothing more than to spend a lazy afternoon with his family, teasing his nieces and nephews or sitting on the couch watching a movie with his soulmate. His contagious smile and quick wit will be forever missed.

We love you, Greg, always and forever.

A private ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 21. There will be an informal Celebration of Life held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Toad & Turtle – Barlow (2475-27 Ave NE, Calgary) from 6pm-9pm. If friends so desire, donations can be made to AARCS (Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society) or to the Cochrane & Area Humane Society. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Greg Hauck, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. Telephone: 403-241-0044.

Condolence from Tena McCarthy on December 19th, 2016 10:32 AM

While I did not know Greg personally, I wanted to pass along a note that I meant to send to him after a recent work awards ceremony on Wednesday, last week. He presented Marc Crowther with his 15 year service award but also gave him a personalized award, likely made by himself. That and his kind words to Marc, made me realize that he obviously was a great and caring boss and very kind towards his staff. Out of all those presenting awards, Greg seemed to be most in tune with his group and I can speak from my experience that his help on the IT side here in our office was always greatly appreciated. I am so sorry for your loss, it will be a loss for all of us.

Condolence from Chris Andrade on December 19th, 2016 10:33 AM

I know in my heart that he will be missed tremendously.

My deepest condolences to Jenn and his entire family.
