Haley, Jim “Whitey”

Jim Haley passed away in his home on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the age of 78 years.

Jim was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He was very involved in softball and achieved many successes which resulted in his induction in both the Alberta and Canadian Hall of Fame. He competed and coached in local, provincial, regional, national and international levels. He worked at the Calgary General Hospital as an electrician and later became the Director of Engineering and Maintenance.

Jim is survived by his three children Shannon, Alan and Sandra; three grandchildren Michael, Andy and Kevin; sister Pat Haley and her children. He was predeceased by his wife Lou Haley in 1985.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebration of life at Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 284 (606 38th Ave NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be sharing of memories and raising of toasts to “Whitey”.
