GUNSOLLEY, Robert Leonard

May 29, 1975 – Aberdeen, Scotland
April 13, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert at the age of 42 years after a six year battle with his diabetes.

Robert Leonard Gunsolley was born on May 30, 1975, in the town of Aberdeen, Scotland. He came to Canada at three months old but later moved to Capetown, South Africa at nine months old. He started school at the age of five at Sacs. The family came back to Canada when he was seven in 1982.In 1983 his uncle got hurt so the family moved to Whiterock. Three years later Robert and his family returned to Edmonton in 1986 where he attended Parkview and Laurier Schools, and Jasperplace High School. In 1994 he moved to Grande Prairie to be closer to family. He moved back to Edmonton in 2004 and to Calgary in 2006 till the present time. Due to his love of Karaoke you could find him at the local karaoke bars singing with his friends. Robert also loved to read, play baseball, and swim. He also learned to play chess at a very young age. Robert enjoyed Tae Kwon Do and took various classes for it in Edmonton. He worked for Telus and then Moxie’s part time. He was the VP of the recreation for students association.

  4. I had the pleasure of meeting Rob while working at Telus in 2007 when I moved here from New Brunswick. I worked at Telus for 2 years but continued my friendship with Rob over the years, singing kareoke and having our famous rockband parties where Rob would sing ballroom blitz and I’d play the drums. So many memories that I will always cherish. I hope that Rob and his family know how very much he was loved.
