Condolence Messages

  1. My friend of 44 years is gone. I am utterly bereft. My pain at his all too premature leaving is nothing compared to that of his beloved Luzma and his three children for whom he lived. Farewell my friend. I do not know when shall come such another.

  3. Luzma, Brianne, Calen, and Evan — We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Allan. He was our beloved Allan too in the ADC and we are utterly shocked and bereft. His sense of humour and his generous spirit will always be with us. I will never forget his warm support when my own parents died within five months of each other and, more recently, when I moved into my current role in the ADC — he was a gem of a man. My husband, Errol, and I send you our deepest sympathies.

  4. Dale and Lorraine Redlich

We are deeply saddened to say good-bye to Lanny (Allan). He was Dale’s cousin, but to both of us more like a brother and friend, and to our daughter Alexis an older brother or uncle. We have so many wonderful memories which come to mind very often these days. We are so thankful that he was a part of our lives.
To his children Brianne, Calen and Evan, to his much loved Luz, to his mother Ida and his brother Brian, to Carey, the mother of his children, we extend our deepest sympathies and love. Our prayers continue for all of you. May God bless you and grant you peace.

  5. I was fortunate to have known Allan for many years as a friend and colleague at Mount Royal. Allen’s sudden passing has shocked everyone who was fortunate to be greeted by his warm smile. Allen’s technical expertise was an important cornerstone in so many important projects at MRU. Besides his sharp sense of humour, I remember Allen most for his kind manner – in words and deeds.

My sincere condolences to Allan’s family, friends and MRU colleagues

  7. My cousin, Lanny, was a great story teller and his sense of humour and dry wit made his stories all the more entertaining. But Lanny’s greatest gift was his thoughtful caring, love for, and devotion to his family. Brianne, Calen, Evan, Luz, Aunt Ida, Brian and Linda, I pray that Lanny’s love for you, and your love for him, will give you the strength to endure the heartbreak of losing him too soon.

  9. I worked with Allan as part of a very close group of staff at the Access Network. As a junior tech he was always helpful and patient as I learned the ropes. Talented and athletic, he was a great competitor on the volleyball court playing in the media league for many years. I have many fond memories of Allan including the birth of our first child within months of each other. My condolences to all of his family for the loss of a great father and friend.

  11. Bev Weidman & Tim Johnson

Our paths crossed infrequently in the past few years, but when they did our encounters were lit up by Lanny’s (I am trying to think of him as a grown up named Allan) storytelling and humour. I’m sorry that now we won’t have the opportunity to hear more from him. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Brianne, Calen, Evan, Luz and her family, Aunt Ida, Brian and Lynda and their family and to all who miss him. Rest in peace, Lanny.

  14. Allan will be so missed by his ADC family. He was always up for a great conversation about anything at all — It seemed that he knew something about everything. Department meetings just won’t be quite the same without his ever-ready humour — He brought a tear to my eye many times with the laughter that he generated with his wry and witty interjections. He now brings a tear to my eye for leaving us so unexpectedly and so very much too soon.

  15. I am saddened by the news of Allan’s passing, far too young. I, too, had the pleasure of knowing him at Access Network and playing volleyball, and do remember him as a quiet and gentle soul, with a ready smile. He will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Allan’s family and friends.

  18. I am so very sad to hear that our community has lost a wonderful man. I was privileged to work alongside Allan and his team in producing video shorts honouring our colleagues at MRU. Allan made this happen with such a warm and gentle approach, delightful wit, and determined tenacity. The results were artful and allowed us to respect and honour our dear colleagues. I respected him for his lovely work. I know he will be truly missed.
