GRINSTEIN, Burdene June

July 18, 1922 – Milestone, Saskatchewan
February 26, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Burdene Grinstein of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the age of 96 years after, in her own words, “a very long and wonderful life”.

Burden was born in Milestone, Saskatchewan to loving parents Rennie (Charles) and Mildred Button, she had a happy childhood growing up in rural Saskatchewan with her younger sisters Arline, Shirley and Verla Mae. She was saddened by the passing of each of her family members but held their memories close to her heart. Burdene started her career with the Bank of Commerce as a young woman – first in Milestone, SK then continued in Yellowknife, NWT and finally in Calgary, AB. She enjoyed long lasting friendships and many exciting adventures, especially in the north, during her career. Burdene was predeceased by her husbands George Warnick (1964-1966) and Dr. Maxwell Grinstein (1973-2013). She enjoyed her life, socializing with family, friends and neighbors. She especially loved to travel and regretted not taking more trips when she was younger and able. Burdene took pride in her home, loved entertaining, shopping and getting her hair done! When age slowed them down, she and Max would often be seen sitting in the sunshine on their front step in Mayfair. Although strong of mind, her frail physical health necessitated her moving to Chinook Care Nursing Home where she was well cared for. May she rest in peace.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through
