Doreen Gray (Pan), beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away surrounded by friends and family at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice in Calgary, AB, on January 23, 2019 at the age of 65.
Doreen was a lifelong educator, teaching elementary and junior high school, and later worked at SAIT, Old’s College, and Bow Valley College. Prior to becoming a teacher, she owned Peter Pan nursery school for several years. Doreen loved gardening, being outdoors, sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Doreen will be missed by her loving children Alexander Pan (Krisandra) and Michael Pan (Stephanie); as well as her five grandchildren, Liam, Jayden, Adrianna, Zachary, and Sadie. She is also survived by her siblings Barbara (Dave), Joan (Bill), William, and Cathy (Stephen), as well as several nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Doreen is predeceased by her parents, Doreen and William, as well as her brothers, John and Donald.
A private service for family will be taking place at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Doreen’s life at The Trop Bar & Grill located at 1501 34 Ave SW in Calgary, AB on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 2:30 – 4:30pm. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sarcee Hospice for their care and support in making Doreen’s final weeks as comfortable and peaceful as possible. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations towards a memorial bench to be placed in River Park.

I am very saddened to hear Doreen passed away. I have many fond memories of times our families spent together when we were younger. I loved spending time with all of you. I loved Doreen for her intelligence, great conversations and her beautiful smile. I will miss her!
