Wally Gimber of Cochrane, AB, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the age of 71 years.
Wally was born in 1947 in Mannheim, Germany. In 1957, at the age of ten, Wally moved with his family to Quebec where he lived for nine years. At the age of 19, he headed west and made Calgary, AB, and later Cochrane, AB his home. He truly loved the Rocky Mountains and was very proud to be a Canadian.
Family was always the love in his life and he leaves behind a legacy of a loving family, his wife Isabel who was blessed to have thirty-eight years of love and friendship; two sons and daughters-in-law Chris and Carla, and Rob and Amanda; two daughters and a son-in-law, Laurie, Tanya and Kent. He will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren, Tatym, Ethan, Kayla, Cache, Alexander, Chantz, and Camya; his sister Brigitte; as well as his many relatives residing in Alberta, Quebec, and Germany.
He was predeceased by his father Rudi; and his mother Rosa.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB) on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
