Barbara Franklin passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the age of 88 years.

Barbara was born in Ottawa, Ontario, the oldest of three sisters, Jan Oattes and Fran Roche. She married Lindsay Franklin on May 3, 1952 and moved directly to Calgary. Career opportunities lead this young family overseas in 1963, returning to Calgary in 1977. In Calgary, Barbara took a postponed opportunity to start University classes and she received her B.A. degree at the age of sixty-five.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of sixty-seven years and her two daughters, Jan and Laurie. She also leaves behind two grandsons, Spencer and Taylor (Emily) and two great-granddaughters.

At Barbara’s request, there will be no Memorial Service. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

    My very deep condolences to you Lindsay and all your family. I am one of Phoebe Thorvaldson’s daughters and have fond memories of the two of you attending parties at my Mom’s house. On one occasion, I remember Barbara telling me about the ghost she saw regularly and I was very intrigued to hear the story! She was a lovely lovely lady! My very best to you all!
