FORBES, Marilyn McNeil

Saturday, November 1, 1941 – Moncton, New Brunswick
Friday, July 14, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta

Lynn passed away quietly at Rockyview General Hospital of respiratory failure in the presence of her son Michael and his wife Katheryn, and her brother Bob.

Born to Marion Parker Story and William McNeil White, Lynn started life in the Maritimes, descending from a line of master mariners. She grew up in Calgary where she developed a love for horses. Although she longed for the sea, she made Calgary her home, becoming a pillar of Christ Church Elbow Park, the Roxboro community, and was appointed as Regimental Lady in the 78th Fraser Highlanders. After working in public relations, she established her career in real-estate, helping many new home-owners. Lynn loved gardening, animals, and visiting the Calgary Golf and Country Club.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son Michael (Katheryn); brother Robert (Jane) White; nephew Jarrod; niece Jill (Jamie); grand-nephew Mac; cousins Stewart (Liz) White, Douglas (Margaret) White, Janet (Jim) Costea, Diane (Michael) Bullis; and family and friends.

A service remembering Lynn will be held on Friday May 4th, 2018. All wanting to remember Lynn and celebrate her life are welcome.

Condolence Messages

  1. Roberta Wallace Lanthier :

We were neighbours in Roxboro for many years before we moved, and so we crossed paths on many occasions at that time and a few times after. Lynn was always a lovely and gracious person to chat with whether it was seeing each other on the street, me canvassing for the heart and stroke fund, or when, in fact, we’d bump into each other in the alley while putting out the garbage. Our conversation would often jump to real estate and local house prices! When our cars would pass on the street, she always had a friendly smile. My definition of a wonderful and caring neighbour. My condolences to the family. I know she will be missed!

  2. Diane Bullis :

    Dear Michael and Bob:
Mike, Diane, Katie and Claire offer our deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother and sister.
As her youngest cousin I remember many happy family dinners with the White/ Falconer families at Christmas, easters and Thanksgiving.
More recently our last few visits at her home and Trinity lodge were positive and heartfelt for us both.
Keep her close to your heart with all the many memories you have of your time together.
Peace be with you Lynn and our thoughts and prayers are with Michael, Bob and family.
