FISHER, Susan Joyce (nee Nabors)

May 10, 1941 – Calgary, Alberta
June 30, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Susan Joyce Fisher passed away on June 30, 2018 at the age of 77 years at Foothills Medical Centre.

Born in 1941 in Calgary to Clair and Lesta Nabors, Susan had a spirit for adventure and a generous, caring, determined and energetic approach to living a full life. She will be lovingly remembered for her warm smile, and the joy and elegance she shared with everyone. Susan’s love of nature and being outdoors was evident in her passions, from camping, hiking and skiing with her growing family; to paddling northern rivers and riding her horse in the mountains; to capturing nature’s beauty in her watercolour paintings; and travelling to explore all seven continents learning about the animals, land and people of other cultures.

Above all else, Susan valued family and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by Tony, her caring husband and partner in adventure for 33 years; her children, Virginia (Cameron) Webster, Valerie Wilson (Brian Olorenshaw), and Andrew (Michelle) Wilson; her stepsons, Kent (Barbra) and Peter (PJ); her eight adored grandchildren, Thayer, Cortland, Michael, Alissa, Kyle, Julia, Josie, and Lily; siblings Barbara and Charles (Susan) Nabors; and her niece, Noni.

Susan’s gracious and kind personality shined bright when she gathered with cherished family and friends. A Celebration of Susan’s life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
